Dark Frontiers Development Update #1 👩🚀
After successfully fundraising, the Dark Frontiers team is focused on the MVP and product game development. At the moment, our designers are working hard to deliver amazing environment designs and concepts for the community to grasp and share. The 3D design team is working on building said designs featured inside the game where players will later mine, fight, build, and earn.
We have already implemented a multiplayer solution and additional functionalities to support a big number of Dark Frontiers players who have already landed on the surface of the moon. In order to stay alive, our scientists are crafting specific sets of spacesuits for a better survival rate on the moon.
Further details on how and what statistical in-game value these spacesuits are going to have will be announced soon together with the NFT sale.
Concept Art
Below, we have published various visual mockups for the different game environments. The key objective is to make the environment consistent and ‘Moonish’ in every way shape and form. As gameplay spurs and action hits the craters, you’ll find more abandoned buildings on the dark side of the moon, alongside other buildings being built by humans.
Even though the moon appears lifeless and desolate, clues can be found if one is willing to venture further. Those clues will lead to true gems and easter eggs; bringing fortune to the explorer.
Here’s some additional concept art for the moon rovers. Rovers will be used to enhance the travel experience as traveling by foot will use a lot of time, energy, and oxygen. Later, you will be able to pack up your personalized rover and take it to other various planets. The space rover is an important tool, which you will, later on, will be able to upgrade, or simply buy it on the Gamestarter marketplace.
Multiplayer World
Explore a multiplayer environment with other players, friends, and enemies. This functionality will be available on the downloadable version of the game with an open-world map allowing DF players to discover new places and mine energy. Act fast — first-come, first mined.
Enemies
Enemies and ambiguous creatures with unique looks and custom mechanics will appear on the dark side of the moon. If you’re not ready to fight, you better be ready to run…
Combat
Asset classes range widely and are accessible to just about any player. Whether you have a sword, pistol, or a wooden baseball bat- you’ll be sure to make good use of each item to survive.
You want to be a survivor? You’ve come to the right place! The player will always need more tools though because there’s no telling what may happen next or how many situations they’ll find themselves facing at once as their adventure unfolds before them through these abandoned sites and ancient lairs.
Mining
Stealing is an art. Mining the crystals of enemies to protect yourself and your friends, that’s what we call a truly versatile skill! Just be sure you have the right tools to survive that encounter.

About Dark Frontiers
“Dark Frontiers” is the newest, gamified space realm governed by a Gamestarter produced DAO. As NFT standards and values are shifting towards promoting use-cases, Dark Frontiers’ goal is to drive mainstream adoption by enhancing the usability of NFTs through staking, item ownership, and the creation of real-world value through in-game items.
Embarking on the gamified metaverse, players will pilot their own spaceship and conquer new planets, defeat oppositions, form guilds and capture new and unique NFTs that can either be built on or sold on the open markets.
