Let’s talk $DARK! Dark Frontiers’ native token $DARK was designed to provide plenty of use-cases and lucrative income opportunities for holders as the $DARK metaverse expands. Creating engaging, visually stunning, constantly expanding, and exciting gameplay for the players was just one part of the plan. It was equally as important for us to demonstrate how perfectly we can blend blockchain and P2E concepts while building a strong community.

The $DARK token is a digital currency used to unlock many elements of the Dark Frontiers game.

Dark Frontiers takes you into space where you can build spaceships, acquire spacesuits and tools with the goal of beginning a quest to conquer new, often dangerous frontiers. Using the $DARK token, players can acquire and merge NFTs in the world of Dark Frontiers with numerous ways to enhance their digital assets. Whether you’re building a base, upgrading a spacesuit, or leveling up your craft there are many options for laying claim to your own unique corner of the universe. Players can also claim land, extract valuable resources, explore different planets and go to battle with other players or NPCs (noon-playable characters).

Below are 5 good reasons why you need $DARK:

1) In-game currency

$DARK is the center of Dark Frontiers game economics. The primary use for the $DARK token will be in-game as players seek to upgrade their assets. They can buy parts to add on to their spaceship, purchase items including tools for crafting and space suits with varying degrees of oxygen levels and longevity. $DARK is also used in land acquisition and for building a base on that land.

Players obtain ‘Terra Firma’ (BEP-721) NFTs by staking 1,000 $DARK tokens to be locked inside the smart contract for two months. This is your land, which can be traded inside or outside the game as an NFT item. Owning land generates you “DARK energy” which you can use in-game or for trading (more on “DARK energy in our next article). Furthermore, some pieces of land contain rare resources and minerals that you can extract using a variety of tools.

All users receive staking rewards at the end of the staking period which is an added bonus to land ownership. Dark Frontiers has allocated an initial 200,000 $DARK tokens to this end.

2) NFT Drops & Discounts

The majority of the NFT sales will take place on the Gamestarter platform, which is where Dark Frontiers was incubated. Would-be planet hoppers are going to need suits or even spaceships, so after purchasing one of these NFTs, they are free to use it within the metaverse or sell it for a profit later on.

This freedom extends to allow players to customize spaceships as they can merge component NFTs to upgrade the stats on their spaceship.

3) In-game rewards for long-term $DARK token holders

Just wait, it gets better! At the moment we’re preparing an in-game rewards system for long-term $DARK holders.

That means that there will be a tier-based system for unlocking certain game features and rewards. For example, if you’re a long-term $DARK holder, you will accumulate quite a few DARK points. These points will let you use the best in-game items, like an advanced spacesuit, or a gun without actually purchasing them! Who needs a spaceship when you have $DARK points? You will enjoy free lifts, oxygen refills and so on just for holding $DARK.

4) Staking

Those who hold $DARK will have the option to stake tokens to earn $DARK. At the moment, $DARK staking is live HERE. You can find out more about staking in our previous article.

The rewards:

💰 300k $DARK reward: 300 000 $DARK tokens are locked in the liquidity provider pool as a reward for participants.

🎉 Top stakers’ reward: top 10 stakers will receive 5 Tier 1 and 5 Tier 2 spacesuit NFTs from Dark Frontiers at the end of the program

🤩 Stakers’ lottery: 15 lucky stakers will share 15 Mystery NFTs as an extra bonus at the end of the program.

5) DAO ($DARK holders vote)

$DARK holders will have a say in Dark Frontiers' destiny. During a $DARK holders’ vote, the community will decide on the direction the game moves into next.

$DARK Vesting Model

Dark Frontiers operates with a cliff vesting model which rewards early players and provides an opportunity to earn while waiting for the vesting periods.
